I’m always on the lookout for events that truly celebrate inclusion, and the
Redlands Disability Expo was just that a beautiful, welcoming space
where everyone felt seen and valued.

A Warm Welcome
As soon as I arrived, I knew it was going to be a great day. There were
plenty of disability parking spots, which made things easy. The first thing I spotted (besides the coƯee van—yes, I’m a coƯee lover!) was a big sign at the entrance saying it was a safe and inclusive space. That little detail made me feel welcome before I even walked in.
Bingo, CoƯee & Connection
One of the highlights was the Bingo game! It wasn’t just about winning a
smoker (though that was pretty cool)—it was a fun way to explore the
stalls and chat with diƯerent providers. It turned the whole expo into a bit of a treasure hunt. And the coƯee? Free for the first 200 people, thanks to a generous sponsor. The coƯee van was buzzing with friendly faces, and it gave everyone a chance to relax and connect before heading inside.
Interactive & Sensory-Friendly Stalls
The stalls were amazing! I got to smell scented candles, play with fidget toys and puzzles, and even try out communication tech on an iPad. It was hands-on, fun, and super informative. There was also a quiet space for anyone needing a sensory break or a cooler spot to chill. And since it was all indoors, we didn’t have to worry about the weather.
A Wide Range of Services
I was genuinely impressed by the variety of stalls. There were providers oƯering housing and Supported Independent Living (SIL), smart technology, allied health services, and even a delightful stall called Our Pixie Friend. They had resilience classes, helpful books, and sensory toys designed to ease anxiety and stress—for both kids and adults. I couldn’t resist picking up a fantastic book about anxiety, which came in a lovely little bundle with a set of worry beads—thank you to my Pixie friends! It was such a thoughtful and practical combo that I know will be
useful.
The speech pathologists at look who’s talking had one of the most engaging displays, full of fun and interaction. And the NDIS representatives? The one we spoke to was so generous with his time, patient with questions, and genuinely eager to help. He even took the time to write down detailed information for me to take home, which was incredibly kind and helpful. It’s moments like that that really stick with you.
The Vibe: Friendly, Inclusive, Supportive
What really made the day special was the people. So many stopped to chat with me—some complimented me on the butterfly hairband in my hair (which totally made my day!) and others were curious about my role with Wellness Australia Group. I loved sharing what I do and hearing their stories too.
The organisers were fantastic, making sure everyone felt welcome and heard. There was such a warm, supportive vibe—it felt like being part of a big, inclusive family.
Looking Ahead
We also walked away with some great ideas for our own stall at future events—and fingers crossed, hopefully at this very expo next year! We’d love to include other Wellness participants too, so we can showcase the amazing things they’re doing and create a space that’s just as engaging and inclusive. Hopefully we’ll see you there with our own display, sharing what we do and connecting with even more amazing people.
Final Thoughts
The Redlands Disability Expo wasn’t just an event—it was an experience. I left feeling inspired, informed, and more connected than ever. If you get the chance to go, I highly recommend it. I’ll definitely be back next year! See you there!
